IPL Season 2...
...to be played outside India - Wed. Thu. Fri!!!!!
For me, the thrill was not just the cricket, but also the sight of Chepauk overflowing with people, Sivamani blasting away on his drums, everything from 'Yengeyum Yeppodhum', 'Appadi podu', 'Aaae aaththaaa' etc. etc. blasting away in the background, during gaps in the game, the youth of the Chennai doing the jig in the stands (lucky SOBs), a rare glimpse of 9thara etc. etc.
So much so, I didn't feel any qualms about cheering for M.S.Dhoni facing up to V.Yo.Mahesh (coached by T.A.Sekhar) with Dinesh Kartik keeping wickets.
And all this, while watching from thousands of miles away!!
Are they planning to maybe have giant TVs?? Not sure how helpful that will be.
On second thoughts, it is good that this is happening this year, when I have no chance of being in Chennai this April/May.
Maybe next year, I will get to experience this live in the stadium!!!!
